EUROPEAKS is a new series of unsupported bikepacking events, where riders try to proceed money for charity purposes by overcoming European high mountains passes and peaks accessible by bicycles. Their charitiy contribution depends on their elevation gain in finish.
EuroPeaks charity challenge will be held anually since 2022, usually last week in July, and route will be every year different, mostly will lead in the Alps. The route of EuroPeaks challenge is not fixed. Organizer announces cca 30 mountains passes, between which riders have free choice of route.
Riders who want to participate in EuroPeaks 2022 can choose from two levels of challenge:
1) COMPLETE ROUTE – cca 1700 km / 40 000 m, including 30 mountain passes and peaks in the selected area
2) SHORT ROUTE: „SIX PASSES CHALLENGE“ – cca 1100 km / 20000 m, only 6 mountain passes
The proceeds of a 2022 edition will go to 5 years old Czech boy Mikuláš Rak, who suffers cerebral palsy of the lower limbs and to organisation Černí koně (Black Horses), who produce special handbikes for disabled people (see below).
EUROPEAKS 2022: LAUSANNE-SALZBURG
In 2022, the charity challenge will start in Lausanne and riders will have to overcome 30 mountain passes and peaks mostly in Switzerland and Italy, few in Austria and Germany. The finish of a race is in Salzburg.
The most attractive and highest mountain saddles on route of EuroPeaks 2022 are Swiss passes as Sanetsch, Nufenen or Furka, Italian passes as Mortirolo, Gavia or Stelvio, and in Austria the route pass for example through Staller Sattel and Edelweissspitze. Every route has separate result list. In case of incomplete route, riders will be ranked in a result list according to number of overcomed mountain passes from a list. In case of equality, time of getting to last mountain pass.
FOR WHO WE WILL BE RIDING?
By participating in EuroPeaks charity challenge you can enjoy the views in beautiful mountains, improve your endurance, and mainly help to people with a diffult fate.
MIKULÁŠ RAK – For the climbed meters, the participants of the EuroPeaks call will be able to contribute to the acquisition of aids, rehabilitation and treatment of 5-year-old Mikuláš Rak from Olomouc, who suffers from a congenital defect. BIKE FOR ADAM – UltraBikers cooperates with other charity project called „Bike for Adam“. It is a charity event, which will be held between 23-31 July 2022. In this period, cycling enthusiasts can contribute to the purchase of special bicycles for handicapped children … just by riding. Partners of this event will multiply each of your ridden kilometer by amount 5 CZK (1 EUR for every 5 kilometers). So, by completing the full route of EuroPeaks challenge, you can increase the proceeds from Bike for Adam by approximately 180 EUR. START: Sunday 24th July 2022, at 7.00 from Lausanne (CH), from the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.
FINISH: Salzburg (A), Kapuzinerberg
TIME LIMIT: is not set. Riders arrive to the finish individually, without a guarantee of being welcomed by the organizer.

ROUTE: The route between passes in a list above is not fixed. Participants of the charity challenge will have a free choice of route between them. Every rider will receive a recommended route from the organizer in 7 gpx files.
RECOMMENDED BIKE: road bike or gravel with tires 28mm+. To all mountains passes lead asphalt roads.

REGISTRATION
To participate in ËuroPeaks 2022 charity challenge, riders have to register via the form in section REGISTRATION. Registration for EuroPeaks challenge is non-binding and any waiver of participation does not entail any sanctions, etc.
Participants will receive only a start number, sticker, UltraBikers bracelet and gpx files with the route. After the finish, they will get a diploma with achieved performance in electronic form.
CONTRIBUTION FOR CHARITY PURPOSES
There is no entry fee for participating in the race. The participants of EuroPeaks: Lausanne-Salzburg challenge commit to contribute an amount of 1 euro for every 500 meters of elevation gain made during a a race.
Riders, who will finish complete route, will contribute cca 80 euro, finishing of „Six Passes Challenge“ means contribution around 50 euro. Of course, every rider can send higher amount for his elevation.
Proceeds from EuroPeaks charity challenge will be fully donated to charity. The charitable contribution is payable after finishing the race, by bank transfer directly to the transparent account of UltraBikers project 2401939042/2010. Mikuláš gets money collected during a year 2022 season in December.

TRACKING OF EUROPEAKS 2022
There will be several FotoPoints on the route, from where participants will be sending photos, share their impressions and announce the current level of meters climbed on the UltraBikers website. The race is run without GPS trackers.
The course of EuroPeaks challenge will be also covered on UltraBikers social networks.
