RACE ACROSS CZECHIA 2023 is an approx. 1100km unsupported bikepacking challenge, with a fixed route for road bikes, across the Czech Republic from spa town Frantiskovy Lazne to mountain hut Kohútka on CZ/SK borders.
Among the biggest attractions of the route will be a colonnade in Mariánské Lázně, RestPoint in brewery of Pilsner Urquell, castles Křivoklát, Karlštejn and Český Šternberk, chateuaxs in Konopiště, Žleby or Kroměříž, water dams Hracholusky, Slapy, Seč and Vír, UNESCO monuments such as St. Barbara´s church in Kutná Hora or the church of St. John of Nepomuk on Zelená Hora.
A bit of history will come in monasteries Teplá, Sázava or Štípa, in Bethlehem in Hlinsko or when passing through the wooden covered bridge in Černvír. The route will again include a possibility of using the ferry in Darová, passing through the Vysočina Arena, or view into the deepest czech abyss Macocha.
RACE ACROSS CZECHIA 2023
START: Wednesday 5/7/2023, at 7:30 a.m. from Františkovy Lázně
FINAL: Kohútka mountain hut (CZ/SK borders in the Javorníky mountains)
LIMIT FOR REACHING THE FINISH: the main organizer is waiting at the finish until Monday 10/7. 12.00. Riders who arrive at the finish line after the time limit will send the GPS trackers by post at their expense.
PRE-START MEETING: on Tuesday 4.7. evening in camping Amerika (see below)
ROUTE RACE ACROSS CZECH REPUBLIC 2023
LENGTH AND ELEVATION: 1000-1050 km / approx. 15,000m
ROAD CLASSIFICATION: cca 60% district roads, cca 30% 2nd class roads, cca 18% asphalted forest road, 2% 1st class roads. The route will lead almost exclusively on asphalt, gravel sections max 2 km in total, max 500m one section. Competitors will be able to use the Darová ferry (on 163.km).

There will be 3 RestPoints along RACZ 2023 route, where riders will be able to take some food, rest and meet with other riders and co-organizers.

GPS TRACKING
Riders will be equipped with GPS trackers, thanks to which it will be possible to follow the progress of the race on the Internet via Follow-Me tracking application.
UB TRACKING
We will be broadcasting the course of the race on the social networks of UltraBikers Cup and Race Across Czechia, plus 10 FotoPoints will be designated on the route, where riders will be able to share their experience on UltraBikers website. Submitting photos and comments will be voluntary.
REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE
To participate in RACZ, it is necessary to fill registration form (below). Registrations will be closed on 23.6.2023.

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee for participation in RACZ 2023 is:
– for registrations until 31.1.2023: 2000 CZK / 80 EUR
– when registering from 1.2.-23.6.2022: 2500 CZK / 100 EUR
After payment of the entry fee, the applicant will be included in the start list.
Entry fee includes: gpx file with fixed route, rental of a GPS tracker, coupons for refreshments at RestPoints in the total amount of 250 CZK, transfer of package from the start to the finish, Darová ferry, start number, RACZ 23 sticker, medal and certificate for finishers, 1 beer/soft drink at the pre-start meeting and at the finish, route itinerary in pdf
The entry fee does not include accommodation and meals in pre-start camp and acommodation at RestPoints.

In the note for the recipient, put your name and surname and the text „RACE ACROSS CZECH REPUBLIC 2023“.
The deposit for the GPS tracker (and other expenses) is 1000 CZK / 40 EUR. Competitors will be asked to transfer the deposit by bank transfer approx. 7 days before the start. Competitors will receive the deposit for the GPS tracker back within 5 days after returning the tracker by bank transfer. The deposit will also cover accommodation at the camp in Aš, or sending a package by post for competitors who do not reach the finish line.
CANCELLATION
In case of signing-off from the race, the paid entry fee will not be refunded, but:
– if you cancel before 30.4.2023, it is possible to transfer it 1x to any other race of the UltraBikers Cup until the end of the year 2024, no cancellation fee
– a cancellation fee of 20 EURO is charged when canceling between 1.5.-5.6.2023, the rest can be transferred to other UB race
– a cancellation fee 40 EURO is charged when canceling after 6.6.2023, the rest can be transferred
The paid entry fee can be transferred to another person at any time, without a cancellation fee.
PRE-START MEETING IN CAMP AMERIKA
On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, there will be a pre-start meeting of riders, which will take place in a camping Amerika in Františkovy Lázně. Presentation wiil start from 6:00 p.m. in a camp, around 8:30 p.m. there will be a meeting with a presentation of the route and a discussion about the race.
After the meeting, a campfire will be prepared for the riders, with the possibility of roasting pork chops.
Riders can sleep in refuges with 4beds or in a tent or caravans.
For riders who will arrive at the start on Wednesday 5th July in the morning, there will be a presentation and taking GPS trackers from 6.30.

The first 30 finishers will get the priority right to register for RACZ 2024.
All finishers will receive a medal with the logo of the race at the finish line and a finisher’s diploma with an indication of the finish time and final ranking within a month of the race.
Based on the time achieved, participants earn points for the overall order of the UltraBikers Cup.
ULTRABIKERS CUP POINTS
BASIC PERFORMANCE: 50 hours = 600 pts
MINIMUM NUMBER OF POINTS: 300 pts; for time over 110 hours
POINT SCALE: 1 hour = 5 pts
BONUSES FOR TOP 10: 50-45-40 -35-30-25-20-15-10-5 (in the case of a joint finish, the point gain is averaged)
BONUS FOR THE 3 FASTEST WOMEN, COMPETITORS UNDER 23 AND OVER 50: 20 -10-5 pts
INCOMPLETE TRACKING: according to the number of kilometers from the total length of the route, as a percentage of the minimum number of points 300b, regardless of time
