PEAKS OF MONTENEGRO

PEAKS OF MONTENEGRO is MTB bikepacking charity challenge, the hardest race of the UltraBikers Cup, through which riders raise money to support 6-year-old Czech boy Miki Rak, in his fight against cerebral palsy.

The route of EuroPeaks 2023 is fixed, cca 900km long and leads over some of the highest and most beautiful passes on peaks of Montenegro.

EuroPeaks challenge has no entry fee – riders commit to send charitable contribution, amount of which will depend on elevation gain.

DATES

START: Friday 21/07/2023 at 7.30 am, from Podgorica
FINISH: center of Podgorica
LIMIT FOR REACHING THE FINISH : main organizer of a charity challenge will wait at the finish line until Thursday 27th July 9.00 am. Participants who will arrive to finish after this limit will send GPS trackers to the organizer at their own expenses.

TERRAIN: cca 60% unpaved roads, 40% minor roads.

MUTUAL RIDE AND PRE-START MEETING

On Thursday, July 20, 2023, there will be a voluntary, cca 60km/1000m, circular ride around the north of Podgorica. In the evening before start there will be informal meeting of riders in a pub in the center of Podgorica, where riders will be able to take numbers and GPS trackers.

For riders who will arrive at start on Friday 21th July morning, there will be a presentation and taking of GPS trackers from 6.30.

ACCOMMODATION IN PODGORICA

In case of interest, it will be possible to share accommodation in a guesthouse in the center of Podgorica.

GPS TRACKING

Riders will be equipped with GPS trackers, thanks to which it will be possible to follow the course of the race on Internet via tracking application FollowMe.

PAYMENT OF CHARITY CONTRIBUTION

There is no entry fee to participate in the EuroPeaks Challenge.

Riders will send a charitable contribution after completing the Challenge.

Participants of the Challenge will only pay for the rental of the GPS tracker in the amount of 16 EUR and will provide a deposit for the GPS tracker 40 EUR. In case of cancellation of participation, the deposit will be fully returned by bank transfer.

Participants do not receive any financial bonuses, material prizes or souvenirs for other positions in the race. Based on the time achieved, participants receive points for the general ranking of UltraBikers Cup.

BASIC PERFORMANCE: 80 hours = 800 pts
MINIMUM POINTS:
400 pts; for a time over 160 hours

1 hour = 5 pts

BONUS FOR THE FASTEST WOMEN AND WINNERS IN THE U23 AND 50+ CATEGORIES: 20- 10-5 pts
INCOMPLETE ROUTE:
according to the number of kilometers from the total length of the route, as a percentage of the minimum number of points of 400 b, regardless of time
