UB30: BERLIN CHALLENGE is an approx. 1100 km unsupported bikepacking challenge, which goal is to as fast as possible visit 30 WayPoints determined by the organizer, along voluntary route that participants of prepare themselves.
2024 editon of UB30 challenge starts and finishes in Hradec Králové, and as a WayPoints we chose Polish, German and Czech natural and cultural attractions in the areas of the Table and Owl Mountains, Polish side of Krkonoše Mountains, Piast Castles, Spree river valley, city centers of Berlin or Dresden, Czech and Saxon Switzerland, Ještěd, Bohemian Paradise and Elbe valley.
In addition to their tourist attractiveness, some WayPoints have been chosen with the aim of making the route as safe as possible, i.e. so that the optimal route between WayPoints leads along less frequented roads. All WayPoints are accessible on asphalt, however, the optimal route will be fit rather for gravels with narrow tyres.
UB25: DRESDEN CHALLENGE
For riders who do not dare (or do not want to sacrifice so much time) to complete the complete route, we have prepared a shortened version „UB25: Dresden Challenge“, which omits the detour to Chotebuz, Berlin and Potsdam, and the length of its optimal route will be around 800 km.
UB25 version has first 14 and last 8 WayPoints mutual with complete route UB30, plus we put inside it another 3 WayPoints: Jakubsburg, Kamenz and Jičín.
FIXED FIRST SECTION AND TRANSIT THROUGH BERLIN AND DRESDEN
Another novelty of UB30 Challenge will be fixed (mandatory) initial 52km section from start to WP2 (refuge Jiráskova chata in Dobrošov). The goal of this is to preserve the atmosphere of a mass start.
Mandatory fixed route will also be made for transits through Berlin and Dresden. Here, the aim is to guide participants of UB30 Challenge around their main sights and avoid roads with heavy traffic. In Berlin, the route will lead around Brandenburg Gate, TV transmitter on Alexanderplatz square, Reichstag building, Berliner Dom cathedral, East Side Gallery or Olympic Stadium. In Dresden, the main icons of the city such as the Frauenkirche church, Zwinger gallery or Augustusbrücke cannot be missed.
DATE, START AND FINISH
DATE OF START: Friday 23th August 2024, at 9.30, Velké náměstí, Hradec Králové (Czechia)
FINISH: hotel U Svatého Jana, Hradec Králové
LIMIT: Main organizer will be waiting at the finish until Tuesday 26th August, until 22.00. Reaching the finish line after the limit does not mean that you will be removed from the list of finishers, only that you will not be greeted personally. Riders who will arrive after the limit, will send the GPS trackers to the organizer at their expense by post.
PRE-START MEETING, EVENT BACKGROUND, PRESENTATION
Background of the event and finish of the race will be at hotel U Svatého Jana, on the outskirts of Hradec Králové, where riders will have opportunity to stay with the others in the evening before the start and where (optional) pre-start meeting will take place on Thursday 22nd August from 6 p.m.
The presentation, picking up of race numbers and GPS trackers will take place there from 18.00-22.00, then on the day of start from 7.00-9.00. After that, riders will go together to main square for the official start of the race.

ORGANISATION OF AN EVENT
There will be only 1 accompanying vehicle with a photographer on UB30 route. Unlike RACZ or MD, we do not provide any RestPoints or refreshment stations at this kind of challenge. Participants solve accommodation and food completely themselves.
FORBIDDEN ROAD
In order to ensure the maximum safety of riders, the organizer reserves the right to prohibit use of some specific busy roads. If this happens, we will announce forbidden roads at least 30 days before start.
GPS TRACKING
The participants of UB30 Challenge will be equipped with GPS trackers, thanks to which it will be possible to follow the course of the Challenge on the Internet, through the tracking application FollowMe.

We chose 10 WayPoints as „FotoPoints“, where participants will be able to enter their times of arrival and share their impressions on UB website.
The use of UB Tracking will be voluntary, for each FotoPoint sent and accompanied by a short comment (at least one word), the participants will receive a bonus 3 points to the overall ranking of UltraBikers Cup.

ENTRY FEE
Entry fee for participation in UB30: Berlin Challenge is:
– 1500 Kč / 70 EUR, for registrations until 30th June 2024
– 2000 Kč / 90 EUR, for registrations between 1.7.-18.8.2024
Entry fee includes: rental of GPS tracker, start number, sticker, diploma for finishers, 1x beer/soft drink at the pre-start meeting and at the finish line

We ask UB30 participants to send entry fee to the bank account: 670100-2216784675/6210, in the note for the recipient, enter your first and last name and the text „UB30: BERLIN CHALLENGE“.
Challenge participants will also pay a deposit for a GPS tracker in the amount of CZK 500 / EUR 20. They will be asked to transfer deposit by bank transfer approx. 7 days before the start. Riders will receive deposit for GPS tracker back after returning the tracker, by bank transfer.

UB CUP MERCHANDISING

CANCELLATION FROM UB30
No cancellation fee is payable in case of cancellation of participation before 1/1/2024.
After payment of entry fee and subsequent cancellation of participation until 31.7.2024, the entry fee is no longer refundable, but it is possible to transfer it once to any other event of UltraBikers Cup or future editions of UB30, without a cancellation fee.
In case of cancellation in the period 1.8.-18.8.2024, the entry fee is not refunded, it is possible to have it transferred to another event of the UltraBikers Cup or future editions of UB30, but there is already a cancellation fee of 500 CZK / 20 EUR
The paid entry fee can be transferred to another person at any time, without a cancellation fee.
